Notes from the Undead
Coming Soon

Horror

Vampires, Serial Killer, Lunacy

Roderick Chastel has recently become a vampire. At least, he thinks he has.

Notes from the Undead chronicles Roderick’s descent into lunacy as he struggles to navigate his new existence. After a near-death experience his mind wanders, forcing him to grapple with the monster of French legend that he hunted as a boy, his parents’ murder, and why his beloved Lucy refuses to rise. Convinced that blood is the key to survival and the only way he can revive his lover, he begins his nightly predations.

Meanwhile, Detective Glenn Abbott’s relationship with Jack gets more complicated. He struggles to keep an open mind when they dabble with bloodsucking in the bedroom. But their assignment to find the elusive, vampiric serial killer threatens to tear them apart as Jack is drawn into Roderick’s delusions. They are pressed by rabid media speculation to decide if they’re chasing a man or a monster. The more Glenn learns about his lover, and the closer he gets to apprehending Roderick, the more confused he becomes.

Notes from the Undead builds on iconic vampire fiction. It balances a Gothic sensibility with the darker elements of crime fiction as it winks at Goth culture. Notes from the Undead will attract fans of Grady Hendrix, Jac Jemc, and readers looking for a blend of supernatural and serial killer splatterpunk horror.
